I have a 97 Altima when it rains the brake & battery light comes on.

it sounds like you drive belt is getting wet and causing an electrical issue. how old is the belt?

The drive belt is maybe 6 years old

wow..i would look into that...and soon

Time wise that belt should be past do for changeing...isn't it kinda dry rotting???

then, it sounds like you have a wiring issue of sorts, and that would be very difficult to find. check the terminal connections on the battery...simple things like that first.

i have a 97 altima my self and i had the same problem, but the brake light went away when i flushed and refilled the brake fluid.

I will try changing the brake fluid , I did have work done to the brake when i saw this problem appear.
