85 Nissan Pickup with new rebuilt installed about 6 months ago. Now it won't start. I checked battery, it still turns on lights, heater etc. and must be charging as well. I pulled the starter to have it checked and it was determined to be in good shape, oddly enough the first try after reinstalling it, the engine fired right up but only the one time.
It seems that power is getting to the ignition but not from there to the starter, but I am less than a novice so I could use some help in trouble shooting before, I turn it in to a mechanic

try replacing the main power wire for the starter, it might have a short in it. it just has to run from the battery to the starter. Maker sure all your connections are clean and tight. Make sure your engine is grounded good too.

Check the plug pig tail plug that comes off the solenoid. The plug or the wire may be bad.
