I have just bought a 3.5 SE Altima. Which has no auto dim rear view mirror. I am thinking of buying one either OEM or aftermarket brand. Any one knows how difficult it is to install these auto mirrors? Thanks,

it should only be mounting and running a power and ground wire...

One Nissan dealer, who sells the auto dim mirror, says they do this in their shop by taking out the windshield, installing the mirror, then apply a special glue and finally re-installing the windshield. Is there anyone there familiar or experienced in the mirror installation?

Appreciate all the help I can get.

i put a new mirror in my BMW and i also worked in a dealership for a while, and i have never seen a windshield get yanked to install a mirror. messing with the mirror is begging for leaks..when i put a new mirror in the bmw, i just bought in installation kit from a parts store.

You need to buy the mirror, and the kit that comes with it, which consists, of a sensor, and wiring harness, (unless you do not want the temp displayed) I sell them on my website.... you remove the old mirror, and replace it with new mirror, no glue, and absolutely no windshield removal!

Thank you.

Are there easy to follow instructions with it? Will the wiring affect short wave radio with static noise? Because I had this happen to my Toyota Previa when I installed a cruise control. Every time I switch the cruise control with the AM radio on, there is a static noise.

Please advise.
