Is there anyone who could possibly have advice on swapping out an old ecu with one from the salvage yard. My question is if my car is equipped with security is it possible for me to use an ecu without security. If there are any pins from the harness to change which ones should I change. I am trying to get out of paying the dealership a lot of money for a new computer and to fix the hacked immobilizer harness the car came with when I bought it. I rewired it the imm harness but they'd have to redo it to ensure they're work. The manufacturing date is 05/00 and its a GXE manual transmission. Im even considering an ecu from another QG18DE if its possible with help from the pinout diagram for the harness. Anyone know of any tricks out there?
