Default Turtle Wax ICE

Recently I had the chance to try Turtle Wax's Ice liquid polish and spray detailer.

When I was asked if I was willing to try out Ice by Turtle Wax, the first thing that came to mind was that little green container with the the round sponge filled with paste. I remember as a kid helping my father wax his car by making small circles with that mall sponge trying to keep it off the plastic pieces, then waiting.…and waiting. The only thing more daunting was the process of removing the wax. No matter how tedious, the finish was always perfect.

I don't know when it happened but eventually Meguiars found its way into my car cleaning routine. I've never had a problem with it because the process was the same, paste on….avoid plastic…wait….paste off. For that reason, I was a bit skeptical when I received the Ice liquid polish and spray detailer. It looked good (definitely not the small green container) but would it work?

I actually put serious thought into which car to use it on but eventually tracked down a family member notorious for neglecting their vehicles. To my knowledge this car has hardly been washed and never polished. This car is never….ever in a garage. It's out in the rain, sun and dust day in and out. After a good wash and dry, I applied the polish as per the instructions and let it sit for a few minutes, then wiped it off.

This was by far the easiest application of any car polish I've ever used. Not only was the application easy, there was no need to avoid the plastic or rubber pieces. It took a few minutes to put the polish on and the exact amount of time to remove it. The finish was pure Turtle wax. The owner remarked that she had never seen the car look so good! I was so impressed that I used it on my new truck (which has a clear coat) and could not be happier. A friend that has a car sponsored buy one of the Euro Tuner shops in the area asked me what I had used.

That's a tough one. Professional graphics are usually put on right after a car is painted and just before the clearcoat is applied. This way you can wash and wax to your hearts content. In reading this website you may damage the finish in removing a graphic and it requires a heat gun to remove. That can't be good on the paint.

Yes you can wash over them ..... with wax you are going to want to try it on an inconspicuous (sp?) spot first.... On my racing stripes I use the spray and wipe wax.
