05 Frontier/O5 Xterra Speaker and Stereo

Just wanted to send out a message to everyone looking to upgrade there Stereos in there Fosgate or non-fosgate 05 Xterras and 05 Frontiers. I have both. I have successfully upgraded the speakers and head units.

05 Xterra S Model (Non Fosgate) - Kenwood DDX-6017 Head Unit / Kenwood KAC-6402 4 Channel Amp / Infiniti 6010cs 6.5 Component (Front) (The Tweeters are installed in the factory location on the dash) / Kicker 05KS525 5-1/4" 2-Way Speaker (Rear) / Sony Xplode Xm-502z Amp w/Sony Xplode 12" Sub. All speakers are mounted in factory locations (except for the sub) and the amps are mounted in the storage compartment in the rear. Aside from the head unit, I was able to put this system together for under $498 (This is with ALL Parts BRAND NEW).

05 Frontier LE Model (Fosgate) - Kenwood DDX-6017 Head Unit / KFC-ST30 Tweeters (Replaced the factory tweeters). All other speakers are factory. The tweeters were replaced to get a stronger treble presence and the factory crossover works perfectly. Simply upgrading the head unit in these fosgate systems greatly improves the sound quality and you can still use your factory amp without any additional accessories.

Let me know if anybody has questions. I have a great way to mount the component tweeter in the factory location as well as knowledge on the wonderful nissan door panels.

Happy to be on board!

RE: 05 Frontier/O5 Xterra Speaker and Stereo

hi

I have a 07 xterra. I want to but component subwoofer 12" from my old suv to the new suv. I want to put the amp and box the the trunk. If I put the amp in the middle storage compartment and close the lid, will it be too hot for the amp? I would like to put the box in the trunk but what do I need to do to keep the box from sliding all over the place when doing the turns or going through an obstacle on the street??

Any idea will help. Thanks

D
