Default airbag light flashing after stereo install

Just installed a Pioneer AVIC-D3 in my 07 Fronty. Of course, I powered it up while I had it all apart to make sure that everything was working correctly before I put it all back together.

Now my airbag light is flashing. I came across some instructions on the net for an install kit from a 05 - 06 fronty that says not to cycle the ignition key while the dash is removed or the airbag light will come on. Doh!

I suspect this has something to do with powering up the system while the indicator unit in the console is unpluged. It's probably sensed as a "failure".

Anyone know how this is fixed, or is there a trip to the stealership in my future?

well just reset your ecu by dissconnecting the neg battery cable for ten minutes and see if the air bag light still flashes if it does then take it in for warrenty.

Thanks - I should have mentioned that I tried that, but all I did was wipe out mytrip odometer settings... I wound up going to the dealer... When I told them the airbag light was flashing, they said to come right in because the airbag system was disabled. When they found out the reason why, they told me it wasn't covered under warranty, and charged me $34 to reset it. Not terrible, and they got me in & out of there real quick, so I guess I can't complain too much.

So, DON'T do this!
