nice i like your setup. i just installed my alpine deck into my altima, and i put in my subs and everything. the power cable from my civic is too short for my altima i think, i can not find a whole in the firewall at all for the power cord to go thru and hopefully this week i can get it all hook up and working.

there are NO holes in my firewall, and i didnt want to drill one, so my buddy who had a competition stereo car helpe me run the wire...i had to remove the LF fender, the hood, the L hood hinge...the drivers door..part of the dash...because all of the engine wiring runs through a harness plug mounted under the door/fender...it was an awful nightmare..and when i was done..it didnt work because of a safety device on the car...but we fixed that, and now it booms...

Front: Alpine Components Type-S 2 way w/ x-over
1 Pair JL 6 1/2 in rear
1 Pair of JL W3 series Subs (unported box) I dunno which is better sometimes (ported or unported)
Kenwood head unit KDC-MP928 (Advanced for configuring, took 2 weeks to figure out)
2 ch & 4 Ch Kenwood Amp w/ Remote SUB Control (plan to upgrade to JL in the future)
Kenwood Music Keg w/ 10GB hardrive (This is the WAY BETTER than a CD CHANGER BY FAR) Its like having an IPOD in your Trunk!
check with http://www.phatnoise.com for more details.

It's not completely finished yet... I still need to install the door speakers... but as the visible pieces are finished, I thought I'd show you some highlights of my 2006 Frontier Crew Cab "TruckPuter" system.

Here's the audio setup:

2 x Infinity Kappa 50.7cs Components for the front
2 x Infinity Kappa 60.7cs Components for the rear
1 x Infinity Reference 5761a 560 watt 6-channel amplifier
1 x JBL GTO1002D 10" Dual Voice-Coil Subwoofer

I built an L-shaped bracket to hold the amp, which bolts into the holes in the truck body where the jack-mount used to sit behind the rear seats. (*Note: the rear passenger-side seat will still fold down, but it no longer folds up more than a few inches due to the lost space behind it.)

I covered a small piece of lumber with carpet to mount the Component crossovers to... and it fits snugly under the passenger's seat. (I ran wires for the woofers to the factory harness, but I still need to run wire for the tweeters.)

I mounted the sub into the enclosure I got from SuperCrew Sound. Fits nicely under the back seat and sounds great.

Then I installed the PC (yes, I said the "PC"... with 80 GB of MP3's, USB FM Tuner, GPS/Nav, WiFi, BlueTooth, DVD with 5.1 surround and whatever else I might come up with later) under the driver's seat.

And finally, a Xenarc 7" LCD TouchScreen replaced the factory head-unit in the dash. I run a program called CentraFuse as the front-end, which is touch-screen friendly and gives me access to my MP3 library, the FM tuner, Nav software, phone control (via BlueTooth) and an on-screen mixer.

You can find the documented install process here: TruckPuter Blog, and this is the entire installation photo gallery.

PS. Yes, up until about 2 weeks ago I worked for Harman International (who makes JBL and Infinity, and also own PhatNoise, btw). Before I quit, I made good use of my employee discount. :-)

Pretty clean install. I like it. I want a double din screen like yours in the future.
At least for now, I have an EQ under the headunit to fill the space gap, pluse I like
having more control over the music beyond what the headunit offers.
Why does phatnoise tend to sell their hardrives for so damn much money...I can max
this 10GB out with no problem. I need more space..Plus, I rip music to have better
quality (Mp3 320kbps or FLAC). I noticed the sound difference at a higher bit rate.
Can u still get discounts? I need another HD between 20-120. Lemme know.
