02 max transmission

02 max SE Auto Trans w/ 4,500 miles...

transmission will shift hard between 1st and 2nd, normal to 3rd...will not shift to 4th

replaced fluid w/ Nissan trans. fluid... 6qts.

is there a lock up switch of some sort to look at...any adjustments to be made...?
my shift lock release is broken, soi don't have to press the brake to move the shifter from P to R to N to D 3-2-1

Can anyone tell me what the Neutral Safety Switch is?

Well I would check the dash to see if the o/d off lamp is on. If it is push the o/s switch. Neutral safety switch prevents the car from being started in gear.
