1997 Maxima

Sirs I would like some help on a 1997 Maxima I have a check engine light coming on and im getting codes (600) (720) and (443) the speedomotor was disconnected when i bought the car a few years back and connected it right away ... Now I went to get the car inspected and it failed it seems the previous owener had removed the check engine bulb so i never knew there was a problem I would like to know if anyone can help me with these codes since i don't see any relationship to them to each other ....... Also a few months after connecting the speedomotor it stopped working I thank you for your time and appricate any help you can give
My E mail address is Nybill44@aol.com

I don't have the codes your requesting but you can call the Nissan service shop and get them or for faster answer just search the code with google...
Good Luck

i agree with txq....any nissan dealership will be able to tell you what the codes mean.

RE: 1997 Maxima

According to my Haynes repair manual, here's what the codes mean...
720 - Vehicle Speed sensor or circuit fault
600 - A/T Control Unit or circuit fault
443 - EVAP canister purge control valve circuit fault

I hope this helps. As far as a fix...I would assume, that when you reconnect the speedometer, the codes could be cleared by a place like Advance Auto parts. If not, you are going to have to go to a Nissan service center...but at least you know what the codes are now.
