2003 Sentra GXE tranny chirp noise
 

I have a 2003 Sentra GXE with 190K miles on it. A few weeks ago, I started hearing a "chirp" sound coming from the engine area when the car shifts from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. Obviously sounds like a transmission problem. It doesn't affect vehicle performance. All gears, incl. OD working fine.

I haven't owned the car for very long so I don't know all of it's maintanance history. Transmission fluid level looks good. No burnt smell yet.

Do you think that it's time for a new tranny? Or should I just have fluid and filter changed? I've searched in this forum and other sites on the internet but can't seem to find any references to this symptom.

give the auto a service as in a filter and fluid change maybe a fluid flush. but an automatic transmission specialist maybe the go, give them a call.
