RE: Altima altenator trouble
couple ideas what it could be. short in alt circuit, the charging circuit also has a relay of sorts that transfers power to the batterie to charge but not over charge it. if that is stuck open then the alternator might be getting feed back which heats up the coiling inside and melts off the very thin coating on it redering the alternator weak or useless. sometime just fixing that will end the having to constantly get a new alt cycle. other than those there are the possabilities of overtightening of the belt warping the shaft(should be able to turn the belt at least 90 deg and no more than 100deg at the belts widest point) the belt being under or over driven by an aftermarket pully and lastly good old over draw. if its got a stock alt but theres two 2k amps in the back and tvs and junk(you get the idea) the stock alternators wern't made for that and will not do well[:'(]. if you have any specifics you might know...im sure i could give you a more specific answer...but till then those are pretty much all your possible culprits. goodluck...any question feel free to send em my way
