Hello...I have a 2005 Sentra 1.8S - one month old. When the engine is on, and I am outside the car, I hear a very high-pitched noise. Sort of like the noise a TV station made when it went off the air at night (in the dark ages!!). I don't hear it under the hood. And nothing else is on in the car at the time. It's loudest when I'm near the car door. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this. thank you vey much!

 

Noisy fuel pump maybe? Any drivability problems.

Have some one crawl under your back gas tank and then have them listen while you turn on your ignition key...don't start the car...just turn on the key..let us know if the fuel pump is makeing that noise...

We're pretty sure now that it is the fuel pump. I'm told that the noise is normal...???
