I have a 84 nissan pickup with a 4 cylinder I bought new. All of a sudden I have lost 10 miles per gallon and cannot figure out why, can anyone help?

 

possibly your odemeter or tripmeter is messed up?if your lost 10 mpg i would think you would of lost some power also if it it is your motor thats the prob.

 

did you buy the vehicle new or used..if you bought it used then when was the last time they had the spark plugs and wires changed, when was the last time the oil was changed, this is all things you should ask someone before you purchase a vehicle. Also if you have added any performance parts of any kind it could drop your gas milage. But i agree with the post above me. If you lost 10 m/g you should of lost a noticable amount of power along with it.

 

if you are also losing power with your lose of milage have the cat. coverter checked
