Hello everyone,
I am new to messing with Nissans and I have a couple of questions. I am getting ready to put a z20e or z22e engine into my offroad buggy. I am not sure which one it is. Is there an easyway to tell? I got the engine from a buddy who pulled it out of a early 80's 200sx. I have the complete wiring harness and the ecu. I am only going to wire up what I need to and get rid of the rest so that it will run. How much of the smog stuff can I pull off? Can I get rid of the egr valve and block it off? I plan on building my own header so I would like to get rid of it. Since this is going in an offroad car the less I have on the motor the better. Thanks for the help.

 

The 2.0 will have a vacuum switch on the back of the intake manifold... the 2.2 does not.... from looking at the pics of the motor they almost look identical.
