nissan primera p12 turnover/idle
 

this is my first post so here goes. Have a primera 1.6 2002 petrol and when i start up the car it does not turn over like it should. The revs on the engine are not high enough for it to turn when started and sometimes when i am pulling away from a junction it cuts out. There is no SCV in the engine (thats for diesel) so what could be the problem. If i take it to a garage it could cost me a tidy sum so im on my own so to speak. If any body has any ideas on where i should be looking i would be grateful

It sounds like either your IAC (idle air control valve) is dirty/needs to be replaced, or your have a dirty fuel filter and it isn't allowing your car to be fed the amount of fuel it needs on idle

thx but had a look at where this is and i think i will leave it to the local garage, not nissan as they quoted me 130 euros an hour plus parts
