Default P1140 Code

I replaced the engine of my 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8 L (CA vehicle) with a Japanese surplus engine. It runs smooth, however the Service Engine Soon light came on. I did replace the Intake Valve Timing Control Sensor per the Code P1140, I also replaced the Camshaft Position Sensor but still the light came on. I wonder if someone out there got the same experience problem as I'm having now. Thanks .....

Yeah you're lucky, this is my first time to do this and now this light is bugging me. I have to use the plate cover of my old engine for the camshaft position sensor. I wonder if that has something to do with it. I did print a copy of the service manual on P1140 code and I'm going to look at it again this weekend. thanks... tatanggorio

Thanks for the reply to my post. I did find the problem and in the process of fixing it. The surplus engine from Japan is not equipped with Intake Valve Timing Control Sensor and because of this there's also no signal pickup portion of the cam shaft. I did used the cover plate from my original engine for the sensor installation however I missed to transfer the signal pick up part to the new engine. The sensor has no signal to pickup triggering the Service Engine Soon light to come on. I should be more careful next time so I won't be wasting my money for new sensors and also my time not to mention the headache trying to figure out what is going on.
