possible clutch problem

hi i have a 99 altima 5 speed,117,000 miles when the car is in gear and you have to press gas to go tachometer will jump up and car wont move any 1 have any ideas why

sounds like your clutch is slicked off. just yank it out and put a new one in. check your pressure plate and make sure it isnt bad too. id replace clutch, throwout and pressure plate and drive it another 100k
