Default cleaning of convertible tops?

I adore my 04 Z convertible, she's silverstone with black top and insides. I tend not to "soap up" the top too much because the material seems to hold onto the soap. Also worried about fading being so close to sun up here. Any ideas?

hmmm...i used to have a ragtop, and i used a soft brush with Very little soap to clean the top. i would check into some parts stores, like autozone, or whatever you have their. while i didnt use anything special because my car was always garage kept, im sure that someone like armor all makes a conditioner of some sort.

i asked someone who is in the know on car care, and when he gets back to me about it, ill let you know!

I have been washing mine just like I do the rest of my Z. I do however rinse all of the soap off of the cloth top. After it drys I take one of thoses lint removers, the kind that has the masking tape wrapped around it, and remove any lint or any other stuff that washing wouldn't remove. My Z is also graged kept. I would guess that the biggest killer would be UV rays.

ok..i talked to a detailing company...here are a few products..

Raggtopp makes protectant for vinyl or fabrics:

If the top is fabric the raggtopp fabric protectant will work much better. If the top is vynil you can go with either the 303 or the Raggtopp.

hope that this helps!

Hi..
There is a convertable cleaner and restorer product that I found in my trip to the AutoZone here in town...
It is made by a good company, comes in a white bottle and goes by the name of Blue
Magic...
