engine hunting

Default engine hunting
1.6, 8valve, TBI engine hunts at about 1500-2000 RPM and will not increase RPM. Cannot go faster than 45 MPH or 64 KM/hr. Any ideas on the problem?

Air flow sensor faulty. Checks ok when cold but shuts down when engine warms up.
