nissan engine models
Greetings,
I've been a nissan forklift mechanic for four years now, earlier this year I worked on a nissan sd-33, a 3.3l 6cyl diesel engine that was in a 1981 international scout. This has got me thinking about the sd-25, a 2.5l 4cyl diesel that was used in some of the older HO2 series nissans. This has got me thinking of a gas to diesel conversion. Has anyone here done a nissan gas to nissan diesl conversion? (car or truck) The z24 is the only nissan that I know of that was used in some nissan pickups as well as forklifts. Some other engine models that I work with are.. h-20,h-20-II LP/EFI LP and gasoline k-21,k-25 EFI LP and daul fuel EFI LP/MPI gasoline One other question, does nissan change model names when an engine used in an industrial application? thanks for any help... -dan |
RE: nissan engine models
The K-25 = QR25DE H-20 = SR20DE ? ... makes sense but the whole internal motor and fuel system would be totally different.

RE: nissan engine models
I would have to compare service manuals to be sure. The k25 can't be too much different since nissan uses a reprogramed automotive ecm, the data display shows the status of the A/C, which forklifts don't have.
