1993 240sx Question?
 

Ok, i'm new to the forum but not to new to the 240sx. I've had my eye on getting one for a while now, acctually since i was stationed in oki,and getting ready to buy onehopefuly soon. The question i have is wil the 97 motor and tranny have any fitment issuse going into a 93 coupe. I think all the mounting points should be the same but just want to make sure. the reason i ask is i know someone that has the whole setup in his garage and will sellit to me for $300 and one of the 240's i'm looking at says it has tranny problems. I know what you guys are thinking put the SR20DET in and be done with it but i don't have that kind of money and this is the best i can do for now. I do plan on trying to save to eventually do the sr20 swap though just need the money first. Any help i appreciated.

just make sure you get the whole harness and ecu cause its kind of pain to swap the 97-98 ka24de into any early model cause its obd2 instead of obd1 like the 93-96 ka24de so your probably going to have to swap your head over for it to work. this is why it took me over 3 months to sell my 98' ka24de

Cool, unfrotuanlly for me that means that i'm goig to have to swap the head out if i want to use the engine atal becausethe guy said that he used the harness from it and i don't know if he has the ECU i'll have to ask. Thanks HXC_Nismo. Oh and like the rb swap i knew a guy in Oki thatdid that withaearly 90's180sx boy did that thing move.

yea mine is pretty dam fast ive already did a top speed run and had it up to 188mph (veiwing apex pfc hand commander) and it runs in the mid 12's in the 1/4 mile right now but soon will be in the low 11's. just take the 97 ka and pull the head of and have a valve job done to your head and put that on the 97ka and it should run like new again. good luck
