Hello all!

I'm looking at buying a 240sx and I was wondering how long these cars run if well-maintained. I'm looking at an '89 hatch, and it still has the original sohc ka24e, so I'm sure it has a ton of miles (it's on craigslist... I emailed the guy to find out more info because the mileage wasn't listed). I eventually want to swap in an sr20det, but I need to know the car's going to run until I get the money to swap to an sr20. (especially being that he's asking $3500 for the car... unfortunately, 240's are borderline impossible to find around here)

Being a former Honda guy (just sold my '94 civic), I know how long cars can run if well maintained, but I also know there's cars that absolutely won't run to 200k miles no matter how much you take care of them.

I guess I'll update this when I find out the car's mileage lol


Also, what do you guys think of s13 coupes? I like how they look, but I hate the stock spoiler... is it legal to pull it off since it has the 3rd brake light? There's a '91 coupe (a little closer than the '89 hatch) that I'm also looking at that has 145k miles (once again, ka24 engine).

Okay, nevermind... I got a reply from someone selling a '90 240sx with an sr20det swap, I'm going to check the car out this weekend hopefully... 150xxx miles on the chassis and something like 63k on the motor (5-speed trans. of course)


Out of curiosity, does anybody drive their 240sx in the winter?
