Default needs help from the expert here: engine, tranny

This is my 1st post and I already need help.... I've been reading a lot of nissan forum in order to gain knowledge of this car. but this is actually my 3rd forum I registered into. I have 1985 nissan 200sx turbo.

I just got my S-12 yesterday, I have some problems tho...I don't think it's major. it's just annoying, but it's pretty serious. I drove it 4 hours straight going home, everything else seems OK but these things:

1. Engine is ticking when idle and under acceleration
waht would be the problem? is it just poorly tuned one or something more serious? I think the valves and timing needs adjustment.

2. Seems like there are some oil residue on the lower part of the engine (I think where the subframe is). It looks oily, but the owner said it's his rustproof. I hope there is no leaks/gasket problem.

3. My transmission is sticky. It hard to put into gears, needs a lot of effort. reverse would grind if u just put it in. it need to be rocked forward a little bit toward 5 then pull back in. transmission and gear oil hasn't been changed in a while. I hoping the synchros are OK.

I'm a novice in mechanics stuffs, so all those things above seems really major for me. I'm most likely gonna endup having a shop/mechanic to do it. the seller has maintenance record, it shows it never has tune-up, or the transmission and transfer case oil changed in the past 5 years. I'm affraid that the tranny and gears oil hasn't been changed in the past 20 years.

Car info:
- regular oil change with Quaker state Full synthetic oil
- new ball joint
- new muffler
- last time rust proofed was 2 years ago
- CA18ET
- 87500 K on the odo
- no rust what so ever.

Please help. Any info is appriciated. Thanks guys.
