P/S Rack & Pinion Question
 

My mother bought a 1986 Nissan 200SX loaded up with a manual transmission and power steering. It's an older car, thought hopefully someone may have worked on and has some knowledge they may share on the P/S rack and if the inner tie rod seals can be changed on the rack w/o removing it from the car. One of them is leaking badly. Dealer recomended putting an aftermarket rack in it...I do as well but I won't be doing the work, I guess it's quite an undertaking, such alot of goods packed into a small space. Not quite sure how they do it yet. If a complete rack has to go in it will be done. However, my question again is; has anyone ever installed new seals in this vehicle's rack and if they know if it's possible to do it with the rack still in the car.
