1984 300zx
 

I have a 1984 vg30e 300zx and i changed the plugs on it. Now the motor is knocking. I took the plugs out and checked if they were to long. I stuck a magnet down the plug hole to see if something metal was laying on the motor when i took the plugs out. I did not find anything on a magnet. I have a 1988 vg30e motor. Will this motor mount to my 1984 transmission?

I did a swap on from an 86 to an 87, and the lower half of the motor is the same. I think that the injectors are different, but if you just swap the long block you should be good. I dont think that they changed the motors till 89. I could be wrong though.
