84 turbo leaking fluid inside

I have an '84 300zx turbo that has not seen much road time recently. Today I went to start it, which went fine. However after the car was idling for a while I noticed that there was some brown fluid leaking into the driversside foot well. It looks like there is some type of reservoir tank behind the center console which is where the fluid is coming from. My inital thought is that it is part of the cooling system as there is a very slight sweet smell. But when I looked in the vehicles service manual it doesnt show any reservoir there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think its a rust combine in the liquid that makes it look brown. Since when have you clean your car?

sounds like the heater core has bit the dust. i have seen in some cars that the antifreeze will leak into the passenger side and very seldom you will see it over into the drivers side. and there are no reservior's under the dash. they are all out side under the hood. if you are getting antifreeze leaking into the inside you must replace the heater core. now it could be from the valve that switches from cold to hot. and it could be running back inside the car from that point. you will need to find out where the heater core is located at and look on the inside of the car for the antifreeze. it is possible if your car was parked on a tilt or slightly leaned to the drivers side the fluid could run down the inside of the dash and run into the drivers side foot compartment. but if you have antifreeze leaking in then it will be your heater core... hope this helps.. this is my second post on here. and glad to be here as i have a 1990 300 zx also.

The rear seal is bad. This is easy to fix. Seal is less than $20.00. Labor is under 1 hour.
