I bought a 91 300zx. this week i been hearing a ticking noise coming from the engine. it does it a low rpms. when i step on the gas i can feel it. then when it at high rpms, it stops. i heard that this is caused by revingthe engine, and going up on a hill. please if anyone know what i can do please let me know.

 

i've heard that ticking noises come from a low grade of octane being used. try using a higher grade or just put in an octane booster and try it out....also try using a higher grade of oil, and get back 2 me.

I just heard that too when I was test driving a 92 TT 300z. I heard the ticking + an exhaust leak. I figured the ticking was the injectors. Is it fast or just a couple times a second?
