I would imagine that premium is recommended. If It was my car I would only use premium in it.

I can tell you this the day you picked that car up they filled it with regular. If you look where your gas cap or owners manual it will tell you that premium is recommended. For best performance use premium. Also break it down your really not saving much if you us regular over premium.

In the case of the 350z ..... Premium is recommended for best performance but you can use regular... when using regular you're ecu will compensate by pulling timing meaning less hp.

The manual only indicates that the Z can take 87 or higher. In reality, there is nothing wrong with using Regular at the gas pump. Nonetheless, the type of gas you use will depend greatly on your driving habits. For example, if you're driving daily at freeway speeds a higher octane level of gas will be recommended. If you're driving primarily on street traffic then the octane in your gas does not necessarily need to be high. Granted, it's recommended to go for Premium and Supreme because it will keep your engine cleaner, do not feel guilty to fill with Regular. Afterall, the increase in performance of your Z will not change dramatically when you use either 87, 89 or 91. Just worry about mixing up high-end gas with low-end gas companies because that will mess up your car.
