your car currently has a KA24DE engine in it, the same engine can be found in many Nissan's 240SX. Most 240SX owners will swap the motor out for SR20DE or SR20DE-T, I believe the same can be done in the Altima, however considering the altima is FWD as opposed to RWD it isn't going to be the same technique when swapping engines as in the 240sx. I hope you can take this information and run with it. So look for a SR20, turbo if you can find it. I heard someone call the engine "The Bluebird once"

good luck,

The bluebird is the jdm version of the altima. Basicaly are you wanting to do a build up or just a swap and leave it alone. If you want to do a swap look for a jdm bluebird sr20det with the harnes, ecu, tranny. The only thing i dont know about is the wiring and you might need a new cross member and motor mounts. The thing with a swap is there is a lot of little things that need to be done. Me personally i would buy a second ka24 and build that. It has .4 bigger litre displacement over the sr20. Just put good internals in it and boost it. You will get more power out of a bigger motor. Hopefully that will give you some insight. There is probably more options but those are the two i know most about.
