93 altima speedo and tach Help Please!

Hey all! I just picked up a 93 altima and the speedometer works only when it wants to. It has heads up display. One thing that i noticed is that either the speedometer works or the tach not both at the same time. Any one got an idea what the problem is?

could be a fuse.
