Altima 2007 RPM
 

Altima 2.5S w CVT - Engine RPM is very low, before I go to the dealer is anyone else
eperiencing this condition ?

At a steady30 mph ( 60kph)the engine is only running at a little over1,000 RPM in D automatic mode.

This is so slow that when you touch the throttle to keep a constant speed the enginedrones and labours.

Touching the throttle , theRPM drops a littlefurther toward 1,000 until additional throttle brings the RPM up. It is like the engine is always running in overdrive (6th gear)

This is really annoyning driving around town, very sluggish throttle response and a droning exhaust.

In autostick mode Irun it in5th gear around town where the RPM stays higher, around 1,800 where the throttle response iswhere it should be for a 4 cyl. Just finished9 years driving a 98 accord with 4 cyl. and also have a Saturn LS-1 with GM Ecotech 4 cyl.
