Catalytic converter removal
I have a 2002 Altima, that had the original converter turn to dust and damage the engine. After all the repairs, the new converter is acting up (out of warranty). My question: I want to completely remove the converter and run the car this way..Has anyone done this before? My only concern is the motor running correctly with the O2 sensor etc...

RE: Catalytic converter removal
I wouldn't recommend it one it would sound horrible and two you wont pass emissions on your inspections

RE: Catalytic converter removal
Hi, thanks for the reply..I realize the cons, but I'd just like to know if there would be any issues with the computer and associated sensors.

if its the header precat you can knock out the internal material, but you will need to buy spark plug defoulers for the 2nd o2 sensor. so it does not throw an o2 code at you. or you cna check online for an obx header which removes the precat completely. hope this helps.
