Default Cool Air Intake...

I'm currently driving a 2005 Nissan Altima SL with a manual transmission. I'm looking to do something mechanically that will give my car a little more umph. Friends are suggesting that I go with a cool air intake, but I'm wondering if it's going to make that much of a difference on my 4 cyl. altima? I know that altima's in california, which is where I reside, are 5 horses less than altimas in other states. Anyway, it's looking like this project will set me back 300.00 to 500.00 and I want to be sure there's a significant difference. I would definitely appreciate any feedback!

Thanks,
slop

a cold air intake is definitly the best bang for its buck... but Cali also has smog and other emissions control, make sure you do some searching and find the intake that is right for your emissions control.
