fuel injection woes
I have a 1998 Altima SE with fuel problems. I have replaced the fuel pump and regulator. I know it is fuel because I can squirt a little gas into the intake and it fires right up but does not keep running. I have checked the pressure to the regulator and it is running around 80 PSI. There is no pressure indicated on the output of the fuel rail. I have looked in vain for a diagram of the fuel system to find out if there is any restriction from the output of the fuel rail through the return line to the tank to develop pressure in the fuel rail. Is the fuel rail supposed to be pressurized? Or does the injector supply it's own pressure to atomize fuel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I finally found the problem. My son had bought the car and had the engine replaced. The input and output to the fuel rail were 2 inches apart and the installers switched the lines. The regulator is supposed to be on the output side of the fuel rail going back to the tank. I switched the lines and bingo the engine started and ran fine.
