ive had 3 nissans in my family now and all of them leak from the head gasket. the ka24de engine head gasket is made out of rubber i believe and so wears quickly, nissans gay n gets their money from this ****, but yea, its not a big deal to buy, heres a link on ebay with a whole kit of gaskets

as far as nissan, they will not refund you.....headgasket is part of normal wear and tear......how often do you change your oil? is your timing right, maybe high compression.....good luck man

RE: head gasket leak at 70K (2000SE) ?
Here is the story.........
I bought the car from what seems a "good" guy, having taken care ot it, at 65K ,car was submitted to regular traffic jam area, it did not leak when bought, noticed the leak 3 months later.so hard to know what happened........According to repair man, head was fairly warped, so it had overheated for sure. but cause still unknown....... Apparently the intake manifold gasket is weak on them, often leaking, and replacing expensive so if this whole gaskets job in the middle of its life afford me an other 100k free bigs problems, cost may be acceptable, considering 4-5 years yet to go. All new gaskets on the head part, planned, lower chain and tensionner, icv valve ,labor(12hrs) came to $1300 CDN. |
