Problems Starting "TEL" Message
This morning, I had a problem starting my 1999 Nissan Altima. The first time I turned the key, the dashboard displays flashed, but then went dead. A few seconds later, I tried again and this time nothing happened. No cranking nor clicking sound. I opened the car door to see if the dome light would come on, and it did not. I waited a couple of minutes and tried it again, and it started. Had the battery checked and it is good. I cleaned the battery terminals recently. The only other odd thing is that there is a display of "TEL" on the radio.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks,
Vic

well it could be that the ground off the battery is betting corroded up inside the wire sheild. or cover around the wire. you could have a loose positive on the starter. there is not to much that will make the car not start. when the lights go off and not come back on usually means that the positive or the ground, or negative has or is bad. as far as the tel in the radio. you will need to look it up in the manual. you may even need to replace both neg and pos cables...
