Seat belts locked
 

Hi.
I'm from Poland, recentlyi've bought Altima '95and i have a little problem...
This model wasn't sold in Europe, and mechanics, evenfrom Nissandealers...lets say, are not familiar with this model.
My problem: after a small accident, automatic seat belts lockedand does not move...
I've searched through the net and found 4 different opinions:
1. seat belts controller under passenger seatis blocked mechanically- there is a small metal ball that has to be reposited.
2. "accident" controller, that blocks fuel pump (fuel pump was unblocked using small switch in the trunk, but it didn't unblock seat belts),in the trunk, is mechanically blocked - the same mechanism with metal ball.
3. seat belts controller under passenger seat is electronically blocked - it has to be reseted by the nissan service.
4. seat belts controller has a small explosive elemement (simillar to this in airbags), and cannot be fixed -and whole controllerhas to be replaced.

Mayby you have more expirience with this model, and can give some hints?

It's most likely a failure of the controller... requiring replacement.
