Ticking noise. please help!
Hi everyone. I have a 2002 Altima 2.5swith 100,000 miles on it. My problem is that when the car is cold or semi warm and take off fom astop,it makes this ticking noise. It only happens if i have it in gear. if it's in park and i rev the engine there is no noise. I took the car in to a dealer but they said they couldnt hear anything. Yeah right! My half deaf dad can hear it, yet a techthat gets paidhear funny soundssaid he couldn't. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

A ticking noise coming from where ?

RE: Ticking noise. please help!
from my guess it would be from the transmission. seeing how it only does it while accelerating. but don't know what would cause it.

Does this noise occur when the car is in drive and you are not hitting the gas?

RE: Ticking noise. please help!
no, just while i am accelerating if the car is cold or some-what cold. after its been driven a few miles it goes away. The car also shifts fine. no symptoms of any problems at all.

I have that same problem. It only makes the noise when you take off, but not in neutral. Mine is a very slight noise but I still ****ing hear it. After the car warms up, it's gone. I too want to know what that damn noise is.
