1997 Keyless Entry
 

Hello,

I just recently got a 1997 Maxima and I want to hook up a keyless entry system. I heard rumors that this model and year comes with the system but no key fob? Is this true?

If it doesn't then would any keyless entry/alarm system work for this vehicle?

Any electrically ctrolled doorlock contains motor/solenoid to mechanically move lock parts when powered (by ctrl module). On basic car models w/o remote/radio unit, drivers door lock is turned by hand/key... so it has no motor.

Depends on car configuration whether theres this drivers door motor, 'any' remote works if/when the motor exists (or if missin, has to be added). Nissans may have any configuration, I dont know your local config, hopefully smbdy can fill in this info... Open door panel and take a look, get detailed info via link(s) on page below
