ORIGINAL: 93maxima ... any instructions ...
Start sprayin with WD40/CRC today on the outer joints, get the opener fork tool. Everythin is easy&straightforward except when these joints are rusted. Prepare for torchin, hammerin etc... I used to wrap plastics on my stanza boots.

you mean to say no need to replace just cover them with polythene plastic?

I dont recommend the shoddy methods I use... all depends on vehicle condition, how long youre gonna use it, resale value. Nobody sees the rubbers (or wraps), but steering has to work flawlessly, always. If the plan is four yrs+, I'd renew the shields, if its two, ashamed to tell, tidy but loose taping wraparound for me:(

Mind u that 99% of my drivin is on asphalt and non dusty conditions, mainly dirt water splash is my concern (danger: plastic droppin on exhaust). The point is to keep dirt from wearing out steerin/bearings. If/as boots are already badly torn, there must be some dirt already in and will cause problems before 2025...

Fillin/floodin with oil could be (?) used to clean the system, but make sure to use exactly right kind of lube (I dunno what), and also that the flush gets dirt out but NOT pushes in.
