I have a 95 GXE and when I turn it on during the idle it makes a loud knocking sound and im sure its coming from the crank casebutwhenI took a look tha pistons where fine.......WHAT IS IT!

 

Rod bearing free play makes nasty noise. Faulty crankshaft or its bearing(s) can also be heard a mile, idle may be ok (happens after stupido ignition adjustment - too advanced ).

Hope your case isnt like mine was...

 

i would not drive the car like this, make sure you have oil and if you can drop the oil pan and see if there is any chunks of metal in the pan. but i recommend pulling that motor apart and rebuild it or get a used engine cause knocking is not good. good luck

 

Thats the second time i got Rod Bearings so THANKSfellas for both ideas ill check my oil pan and open back up tha motor and check it out
