Default headlight adjustment

Question. I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima with the HID Xenon headlights. The headlight on the passenger side is not as bright as the drivers side. I had the dealership look at the ajustments, and they said the adjustments are within Nissans specs. They also informed me that the light on the passenger side is not as bright as the drivers side, so the driver can see more on the driver side while at night. Does this sound correct? I have never heard of this before. Hope someone might be able to help with this question. Thank you. Mick

I have never heard of THIS before ... Myriad other stories whereby stealership$ earn their fame&name ...

Does this sound correct? No, but typical: the HID's are golden milk cows; deduce the price of a transformer (10$) and a lamp (10$) from the askin price and you can calculate the profit margin.

The manufacturer sees those types of $20 costs... the dealerships don't.....the dealerships gets ripped and just passes along the torch.

Yes but up to a point; their profit margin sits somewhere around 75% dependin on product. This HID has been designed to gouge all... Here one cannot buy shocks (KYB Koni etc; try if u might) from no other shop but stealership - visiting general parts shops with this shoppin list results in kinky armwrestling as catalogs have spare no.'s & prices but NOT ONE SHOP WILL SELL - direct over the counter or via internet. Thus ONE 70€ shock will cost ya here 370€ at Nissan.
