Help specing mid-engine 3.5VQ turbo supercar
Hi,
I'm working on a project re-powering a '93 Consuler?Mosler GTP(2000 lb mid-engine with composite body/structure) with a 2004 Maxima 3.5L 6-speed. The car is getting 1/8" oversized headers and a rear-mount turbo.
The goal is to get 600 reliable hp with a fully built turbo motor and have a trans that can put the power to the ground reliably. I'll also be putting in lightweight flywheel, clutch, etc. The car should be incredible when done. Photos are in the raw build state at the moment.
I could use any tips on the best parts, where the weak points are, and what needs to be done to the tranny to hold the power.

sweet project man like to see more progress, if your going to boost it your going have to put good internals in it if you want to break over 600 hp. im not sure what other week points there are in the maxima vq35de. good luck with your project and welcome to the forum

U need a totally rebuilt tranny -or- trailer with spare trannys... Just one general thought: stock tranny boxes are flexible, in one nissan case main axle oil leak vanished just by adding more supports.
