One timing belt in VGE. When it is not changed 60/5yrs, it may break anytime.
VE engine =with coilpacks has three chains 'in oil bath', seek manual page EM-52 via links below. They need also checkups, and wont last forever, especially if lubrication fails.
If belts/chains break, one needs another engine.

Check all links from page below; heres pic of the three 1-3 accessory belts:

would it be ok to have the engine rebuilt instead of having a new put in especialy when money is a factor .I knoe a new one would be better and I couldn"t drive above 55mph for a while . please feel free to email me if u like

what kinda shape is the body of the car in? with that high mileage on the engine youd probably be better off getting a new VE30DE to put in it and theyre not expensive motors

The body is almost perfect still . the sunroof still works good ac will freeze you out when car ran interrior is still almost perfect. Im going to let one of the highschols here in ft worth look at it . Im a school bus driver for the district.

Yeah I'd say go with getting a new/rebuilt motor cause theyre not that expensive, you could probably find one in a junkyard actually

+1 on the junkyard motor cause there probably low mileage and they usually give a warrenty on the motor when you buy it from the junkyard. it would probably be around $600-$1500 for a used motor from the junkyard just shop around.

U have to open it before rebuilding. The issue is, can u find a piece you still can rebuild onto? Then ask auntie for 5000$...
Yes the A/C is on top, the pic was from down below. I guess youll get a rotten Maxima with good VGE for 200$? ...some horses less but u can tease out more than stock VE. ->do check the mentioned pages.
