Maxima 2001 GLE cold start's
 

Have to feather gas pedal on start-up or will stall-out, and rpm,s rev higher than 750, which causes reverse and drive modes or alittle hairy, when you start out.. But after several minutes down the road , say at a red-lite, normal operation of engine and rpm's o.k. ( no check engine is on, maybe a dirty sensor or faulty sensor that tells the computer at start-up??? )

My guess would be the idle air control valve....it's the thing bolted on the bottom of your throttle body.
