Nissan Maxima GLE 98 boots problem

I have found the outer and inner boots are brocken.
What kind of Axle assyI need to buy for my Nissan Maxima GLE 98 with ABS?
-w/abs, w/limited slip or -w/abs, w/o limited slip?
Where can I find the info about type of the differential?
Is it reasonable to replace the axles?
Maybe it is better to replace the outer/inner boots only?
Thank you.

Thanks!!!
The Nissan OEM boots kit can be found on http://www.nissanpartsonline.net
It is not expensive and original.
What is the reason to buy other one and cut it?
I don't know what to do with boots...
The price for replacement is to high and no warranty about the old cv joints.
The price for Nissan OEM axles is 455+455.
The new axles priceon napaonline.com is 110+140...
http://www.napaonline.com/masterpages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=430&Keyword=shaft&Ke ywordCat=CV+Driveshaft+-+Front&VehCode=Y
But maybeit is not so perfect...

"What is the reason to buy other one and cut it?"
- neoprene is far superior material
- one size fits all: excess is cut off
- pull over type: no need to dismantle the axle. After doing both ways, you can explain...

If driven 100miles with broken boots (grease flown out, sand in), sand has done its work. Axle joint bearing surfaces are then shot, and will start banging, eventually break off. In that case, buy new axles or go by bus... As said in the text (read it all) there are five axle types with five problems which are said to fit, but wont. Just buy the right ones - sorry cant hlp.

The Nissan Axles manufacture company the next:

EMPI (new, no core) , $110-140
A1 Cardone (new, no core), $110-140
First Equipment Quality
ARC
CVU
ACEI
The EMPI/Cardone is the best choice.

Thanks a lot!
P.S. About the Axle w/ LSD or w/o LSD:
".. w/ ABS, & w/o Limited-Slip Differential On certain models, a limited-slip differential (LSD) was an option. Please confirm the correct type of differential in the vehicle before ordering drive axles. Check the model ID # (NOT the chassis #) at the ID plate on the firewall. The final five digits after A32EUA or A32EVA are the option codes. The first or second option code digit determines whether or not the vehicle was equipped with a LSD (LSD was standard on Infiniti I30 Touring models). For 2/94-4/95 and 2nd digit = A, D, E, or G, the vehicle has LSD. For 5/95-6/98 and 1st digit = C, E, K, V, 2, or 5, the vehicle has LSD. For 7/98-3/99 and 1st digit = C, E, or F, the vehicle has LSD.

just buy new axles from the part store dont half ass it with slip on boots. it doesnt matter if it has lsd or not but it does matter if you have abs or not.

RE: Nissan Maxima GLE 98 boots problem

If youre lucky, u wont experience those pangs that the unlucky axleswap wannabes have... One guy told that he drove 1k miles happily, only then the aftermarket axle dropped off... he blamed the axle. I (hope will not) have no experience (I check boots regularly), but these maxima axle stories are nasty, so at least use some mechanical specialist to check and measure/compare your old/new axles before installation.

You are right about the complete axles...
I confused about the LSD. There are some different models for Axle w/LSD and for Axle w/o LSD for the Left Axle.
Please see for example:

or:

Thank you!

RE: Nissan Maxima GLE 98 boots problem

The Axles were replaced today.
~ $250 two New Complete Axles from NAPA store (no Core)
~ $210 installation fee, 3 hr labor, but it was done in ~ 2 hr by profestional mechanical.
I have the old Axles. It is in very good condition. And I am going to clean it and see. Maybe I will put boots on it by myself if it is needed.
Thank you!

LSD test:
- raise front, rotate wheel by hand. Wheel on the other side will turn in the SAME direction.
- kickdown (after tuneup:) will leave two blk streaks... as no slipping.
