recurrent starting problem-95 maxima

Hi...I could really use some help with this one...my 1995 nissan maxima has been having recurrent starting problems, and no one can seem to figure it out, including my mechanic.... What the problem is: It's turning over, but it's just not catching, sometimes it will start if you pump the gas or hold the gas pedal down midway...What has been done so far: Spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, and mass air flow sensor have all been replaced. After the fuel pump was replaced, it was working well for about two months and then started having the same problem again. Computer diagnosis reads crank shaft and knock indicators, but that seems to be unrelated and probably just a sensor problem, which has also been consistently malfunctioning. Also, when it's not starting, it doesn't respond to jump starting, so it doesn't seem to be the battery or starter. Please write with any suggestions.
Thanks a lot,
Laura

TPS Throttle Position Sensor is linked to gas pedal, can cause this problem, about 90$, easy to swap or clean. See http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/6

Who knows, 'New MAF' may be faulty, old one is ok? Bad MAF surely can kill engine.

If mentioned crankshaft sensor fails, engine will possibly only start in 2000rpm ceiling 'safemode'. This Sensor has to be tested. Bad KS affects performance & gas consumption.

Other issues are bad groundings, connections, relays, contacts... start from charge voltage check at ECU. See pages 10, 14 & 5

this might be the same problem that i have on my 97 i30 being as they're damn near the same car. im gonna check this out too because i've put 4 starters in the car.

okay i went to the shop and had these codes pulled po-500 speed sensor code, p450 evap pressure sensor, po 446-evap vent solenoid problem

the starter which has been replaced repeatedly then died which i had to have replaced to be able to get to work. I was also told there were " camshaft sensors have erratic readings" and that that sensor should be replaced. any guesses as to the starting issue? The car still acts as if it doesnt want to run over.

The car...doesnt want to run over...

Thats positive feature:)

Typical Nissan problem is rotten ground cable connection under batt tray ... if (?) your starter is 'lazy' while batt is good.

that seems like it might be it. the tech at the dealership said it might be a bad ground but fixing is expensive casue the tranny has to be removed. Ima havemy guy look at it when i go back for the sensor.

Dont go to that stealership... Battery & batt tray has to be removed, NOT tranny.
