Just recently my Tach needle has begun "jumping". There doesn't seem to be a dragging effect on the engine as the needle "jumps" so it appears that a sensor or cable has become loose, but I wanted to check to make sure.

 

My tachometer went crazy awhile back, replace the little motor on the instrument cluster from a junk yard and it worked fine
