1999.5 pathfinder won't start
Intermittant start.
- fuel tank is full
- I hearthe fuel pumpwhine when I turn the key 3/4..but then when I go to start it...the engine turns over very good but it just doesn't start.
- when peddle is depressed and then the key is turned...it seems like its going to start for a couple of seconds and then doesn't?
Any ideas?

RE: 1999.5 pathfinder won't start
I have a 1997 Pathfinder and this just happened to me. The engine cranks fine but just won't fire...it was so close but just wouldn't start. It turns out it was the distributor assembly. More specifically the coil pack or core pack was worn and the spark inside the distributor was arcing (a short). After the assembly was replaced it has started fine! Take care.

check for spark if you have coils then you possibly have a bad igniter but if its a distributer then check the cap and rotor and those most likely the cause, if that isnt the cause then check your MAF but you truck should start but it would run horribly with a bad maf so i would check your ignition since you have fuel. also you can check the air filter box and filter to make sure it isnt really clogged or if there happens to be an animal in the airfilter box either and also a plugged up exhaust can cause a no start like a something wedged up the tail pipe or a clogged catlytic converter, but these are in a severe case i would check the most obvious stuff first like for spark lol.
